But now I recall it as being rather ugly visually, except for Ann-Margret, whom one of the major magazines of the era (either TIME or NEWSWEEK) referred to as "really magic."Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13532919555669007677noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-6516439224536252492017-02-09T14:30:58.954-08:002017-02-09T14:30:58.954-08:00Really have trouble getting past the dummy's G...Really have trouble getting past the dummy's GIANT head.
Look for the awesome Joyce Gibson in the audience at one of Hopkins' shows.Guy Callawayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02237807931893298891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-25007333931615442312013-10-14T16:10:53.164-07:002013-10-14T16:10:53.164-07:00i remember the t.v commercial! 6 years old,watchin...i remember the t.v commercial! 6 years old, watching cartoons and this ad comes on scaring the daylights out of me hahaha good movie tho, alot of people i know haven't even heard of it sadlyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15480609158924898481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-17826357982932519412013-07-28T09:39:29.041-07:002013-07-28T09:39:29.041-07:00Never could quite get into this one even though I ...Never could quite get into this one even though I approached it with much anticipation. My favorite part is when the Burgess Meredith character catches Anthony Hopkins arguing with his dummy and then Hopkins tries to prove to him that he is sane, which I found kind of amusing.

SPOILER ALERT!

I also didn't get the twist ending at all. Was the Ann Margeret character supposed to have a split personality like Hopkins? It seemed confusing and a bit illogical.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-65976542534928345602013-07-26T20:31:11.382-07:002013-07-26T20:31:11.382-07:00Magic has one of the greatest trailers (or should ...Magic has one of the greatest trailers (or should I say TV spot) absolutely frightening when I saw it as a kid.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvSw5v3PoFwnotaleftiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03155543542819988306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-84103917252820656132013-07-26T15:52:35.265-07:002013-07-26T15:52:35.265-07:00Another great review Peter, spot-on as always. It's a great story and mostly well executed with the film although I agree whole-heartedly with you that some of the minor characters, particularly Ann Margaret's just don't work. Burgess Meredith is great as the manager, definitely going to look this up on AMZ and if it's fairly cheap order it for the collection :-)Tommy Rosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02150131602787950689noreply@blogger.com
