But that's awfully damn hard to do, since the ludicrously overly stereotyped tropes comprising its content are, at least at this point in time, impossible to experience without guffawing ... Maybe there were characters of this ilk -- and the archetype was notably revived in "The Deuce" not long ago... One of its seasons had that great opening scene of the pimps sitting on the Port Authority benches waiting to accost the "fresh meat" runaways as they arrived ...

Mostly this film reminded me of summer camp when I was twelve -- & the counselors made us sing "Inch by Inch, Row by Row, We're Gonna Make This Garden Grow, We're Gonna Mulch it Deep & Low" & etc. ... But instead we would all sing "Bitch by bitch, ho by ho ... We're gonna make our stable grow!" ...poochiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06747791020366880257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-89678476791638539342015-10-01T20:15:02.758-07:002015-10-01T20:15:02.758-07:00Amateurish or not, the SESAME STREET factor goes a...Amateurish or not, the SESAME STREET factor goes a long way toward making this entertaining to me. I met Roscoe once at a Mall show (or rather sneaking a cigarette out by the trash compactor so the kids couldn't see) and he was really cool.Bookstevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09797445163866512849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8823340817818385797.post-22423388017886069902015-10-01T15:12:09.312-07:002015-10-01T15:12:09.312-07:00Diana Sands is fantastic here. Left us way too soon (WILLIE DYNAMITE was released posthumously--Sands was only 39 when she died of cancer in 1973).Halhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09291930694234773688noreply@blogger.com
